Summer Youth Sailing Camp

Go Sailing This Summer!

Have your kids learn to sail and race on the San Francisco Bay next to the Golden Gate Bridge! Located in the Marina District, Golden Gate Yacht Club has an outstanding sailing history and hosted the 33rd America’s Cup.

Our Youth Sailing Camp is open to kids ages 11 – 17 and is ideal for kids who want to learn to sail and intermediates who want to learn to race. Camp registration is open to members and non-members alike.

Beginner camps will teach kids parts of the boat, rigging, capsize recovery, tacking, gybing, and safety.

Intermediate camps will cover race tactics, rules of racing, body placement, sail controls, and more.

Camp Schedule

Our camp runs Monday – Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a short day on Friday, ending at 2:00 pm.

Camp Sessions

We offer a variety of 1-week camp sessions geared for beginner sailors to more advanced racers using CFJs and RS Fevas.

Cost

Members: $700* + tax per session

Non-Members: $750* + tax per session

* Plus 3% for credit card fees

Cancellation / Refund Policy

Notice of cancellation must be submitted in writing or by email at least three (3) weeks before the start of the session in order to receive a full refund (minus the $70 non-refundable registration fee). If you cancel within three (3) weeks of the session start date, you will not be issued a refund. If Golden Gate Yacht Club cancels your session, we can place you in a different session (free of charge) or issue a refund (subject to review on a case-by-case basis).
